Activision unveils James Bond: Blood Stone

Activision has announced it's getting back into the spy game, with a brand new 007 action game, titled James Bond: Blood Stone.

It looks like a cracker too. With an original story that pits Bond against a gaggle of terrorists on a hunt to track down a missing scientist, the game will hop from Athens to Siberia, Istanbul, and beyond, and even has room to throw in a new Bond girl in the shape of songstress Joss Stone, who's penned the title track, "I'll Take it All".

The game's being put together by the team at Bizarre Creations, who are more famous for racing games like the PGR series and the recent online battle-racer Blur, but who proved pretty handy with guns too with the under-appreciated arcade shooter The Club. Bond's latest splits the action between third-person cover-based shooting and sections where you get to race around in an Aston Martin or a speed boat, and there's a number of multiplayer modes planned too, all of which will allow for unlocks and XP, in the style of Modern Warfare.

James Bond: Blood Stone will be hitting shelves later this year, and will be available on the PS3 and Xbox 360.
