Nintendo 3DS owners can now download a playable demo of Rhythm Thief & the Emperor's Treasure, Sega's colourful new Paris-set rhythm action title.

Available via the Nintendo eShop, the free trial introduces players to the striking anime-style visuals and addictive music-based challenges that define this unique handheld adventure.

The full version of Rhythm Thief & the Emperor's Treasure is out in April 2012 and stars Raphael, a young boy living a daring double life as an altruistic art thief in Paris, while on a quest to find his missing father.

Packed with more than 50 rhythm challenges, the game sees players tapping the Touch Screen, pushing buttons and controlling the gyro sensor in time with the music in order to progress.

The game features a charming visual style, an involving storyline, numerous sidequests and collectibles and various multiplayer modes, both via local wireless and StreetPass.

Free demos of various top 3DS titles are available via the Nintendo eShop, including Resident Evil: Revelations, Dead or Alive Dimensions, Metal Gear Solid: Snake Eater 3D and Mario & Sonic at the London 2012 Olympic Games.
