Groundhog Day: Like Father Like Son is structured in eight consecutive scenes contained within one day that repeats. After finishing the last scene the day restarts and the character relives the day with new knowledge of the events, gathered from previous playthroughs. The narrative gameplay forms a loop where the players can freely explore the results of their decisions and actions on the events of the day and change them to open new version of the scenes and gather new knowledge that opens new possibilities. This knowledge comes as new objectives, new solutions to puzzles, new items to use and new dialog options. The results of the main objectives of the scenes have an impact on the consecutive scenes in a branching structure, with a final effect on the latest objective of the game to stop the loop and get to the next day.
