Minecraft Dungeons Update

The beloved dungeon crawler, Minecraft Dungeons, has received an epic free update and an awesome new Flames of the Nether DLC. There have also been some fixes to the game including optimised performance on Xbox Series X|S consoles. Want to know more about all this newness? Read on!


As you’ve probably guessed, Flames of the Nether takes place in The Nether dimension and contains six locations in total to explore! These six new missions will allow you to explore the epic Minecraft universe in an all-new way. Find new artifacts, new gear, and vicious mobs within The Nether. This massive DLC also boasts 2 new player skins, new endgame content, enchantments, balance changes, a Baby Ghast pet and more!


Ancient Hunts

These are procedurally generated end-game missions that weave in and out of The Nether. However, this comes at a price… you will need to sacrifice some of your items to access an Ancient Hunt. Choose your items wisely, each combination will determine which ancient mobs you may encounter. Defeat these mobs and receive brand-new Gilded gear, more powerful than anything before!

Gilded Gear

Also part of this free update are Gilded gear drops, boasting ultra-rare items with an extra Enchantment slot built in. What does this mean? This makes these items some of the most powerful in game! Prepare to face the Ancient Hunts and travel to the perilous Nether in order to get these end-game level items.

Gold Currency and Piglin Merchant

Received your first bit of gold from Ancient Hunts? You can now become accustomed to the Piglin Merchant who will set up shop in the mysterious cave. Trade your gold for items and possibly even rare Gilded gear.

Return to Checkpoint

There is also a brand-new feature which allows you to head to the menu and return to Checkpoints in-game if you ever find yourself stuck!

Xbox Series X|S Enhanced

As part of this free update, Minecraft Dungeon has been enhanced for Xbox Series X|S. Xbox Series X supports up to 4K resolution and 120 FPS and Xbox Series S supports up to 1440p resolution and 60 FPS. These resolutions and frame rates are variable, and will lower while playing four player local co-op
