The Best Games of 2020

2020 was a memorable year for many reasons, and whilst we are all still processing the year, let us not forget some of the unbelievable games and consoles that came out this year! Below is a list of some of the highest scored games on Metacritic, all of which came out in 2020.

The Last of Us Part II - 93 on Metacritic

This will come as no surprise to anyone, but The Last of Us Part II is one of the highest-ranking games of 2020, and even scored a number of awards at The Game Awards, including The Game of The Year award. This masterful game is the sequel to the critically-acclaimed ‘The Last of Us’, centring around the complicated characters we know and love, as well as some new storylines and curve-balls thrown into the mix.

Believe it or not, the gritty post-apocalyptic setting of The Last of Us Part II is only a minor feature to the complex story. The storytelling and character arcs within the game are unrivalled, overall, this game is a nail biting must-play. Demon’s Souls - 92 on Metacritic

Demon’s Souls was one of the mightily impressive release day titles for the PS5, and it blew us away. Alongside slaying larger than life demons and mastering the arts of magic and war, we were able to explore the fog-filled darkness of Boletaria in stunning visual quality and beautifully enhanced performance. Microsoft Flight Simulator is the next generation of simulation games. This year we could also explore a breath-taking landscape with curious and unique environments to navigate in Xenoblade Chronicles: Definitive edition. This open-world journey of a lifetime is rich in fantasy sci-fi action and interesting NPCs to interact with, not to mention challenging quests and a bounty of enemies.
