Best Video Game Halloween Events 2020

It is spooky season and there are plenty of games hosting in-game Halloween events! If you want to skip the horror but still enjoy the spirit of the spooky holiday, these are some of the biggest video game Halloween events.

Overwatch - Halloween Terror

Return to the fright! Halloween Terror is back in Overwatch. From 13th October to 3rd November, heart-pounding horror awaits with terrifying cosmetics, weekly rewards, and some new spooky spins on Junkenstein’s Revenge.

There are weekly challenge missions available with sprays, player icons and spooky skins to earn. Fight to survive the tricks and confront haunting horrors in the Overwatch Halloween Terror event.

Animal Crossing: New Horizons - Halloween Update

Discover new spooky surprises in the latest Autumn update for Animal Crossing: New Horizons. Stock up on your sweets for the trick or treaters, dress up in your Halloween costume and grow your own pumpkins! This Halloween event will also see the return of Jack, the Czar of Halloween! He will show up on Halloween night and he’s a fan of both tricks and treats.

As well as new characters, there will be plenty of new DIY’s for you to craft. Decorate your island with pumpkins and get ready for the 31st October.

Splatoon 2 – Splatfest

Splatoon 2 will see a Halloween Splatfest which will begin on 10pm on 30th October to 1st November. Inkopolis Square will receive a spookily slimy makeover which spills over into many of the playable maps. Dress for the occasion with one of the many Halloween-themed headwear items including devil horns, Kyonshi hat and more.

Destiny 2 – Festival of the Lost

The Festival of the Lost returns to Destiny 2 from 6th October to 3rd November. If you are feeling brave, The Haunted Forest is open, and something has caught The Spider’s attention. Discover what lurks in the shadows if you are not too distracted by all the treasure. Collect Cipher Decoder throughout the event and use them to unlock additional treasure chests at the end of the Haunted Forest run.

Put on your scariest mask and collect Legendary weapons exclusively available during this Halloween event.

Pokémon Go

The Halloween event is making a return for 2020! From 23rd October – 3rd November, get your Pokéballs ready to catch a Galarian Yamask, Spiritomb, costumed Gengar and Sableye. If you’re feeling brave, there will be three spooky mini events all Ghost themed including the Halloween Cup which will be live in the GO Battle League.

There will be plenty of Halloween-themed cosmetics, boxes, and surprises for you to find!

Apex Legends – Fight or Fright

From 15th October to 5th November, the haunt Fight or Fright event will take place on Apex Legends. There will be an all-new limited-time mode called Shadowfall featuring the spooky Kings Canyon at night. Apex Legends will host exclusive event challenges with plenty of free loot, cosmetics and more to unlock!

As darkness descends on Kings Canyon in Shadowfall, a distorted version of the Apex games will be hosted by a hauntingly mysterious figure. Find out more about the Halloween Event here.

Monster Hunter World – Seliana Fun Fright Fest

Head to Monster Hunter World to celebrate the season of Halloween! This event will be available for players who have purchased the Find out more about the Monster Hunter World: Iceborne expansion. But what can you expect? Well, frightfully exciting equipment! The Gathering Hub will be fully decked out with spooky decorations and there will be plenty of new event quests offering materials for you to craft special equipment.

Ever wanted to throw snowballs? Well, you will find a “Snowman” item in your login bonuses, which you can use to throw snowballs at other players! Celebrate Halloween with hunters from around the world in Monster Hunter World.
