Everything You Need to Know About The Medium

Described by fans as the closest thing to a successor of The Silent Hill games, The Medium is a psychological horror game available exclusively on Xbox Series X|S and PC. The game is one of the first next-gen Xbox exclusive games and won’t be available on Xbox One.

What is The Medium about?

The Medium is a third-person psychological horror game set in Krakow, Poland in the 1980s. Marianne, a Medium, lives in both the real world and spiritual world. With access to both, she can see a much wider perspective.

Things are not always what they seem. Everything has another side in this dark and oppressive world. In the spirit world, Marianna has additional abilities including one that lets her leave her physical body behind to explore further. Although, think twice before you leave for long period of time as it will affect her physical body.

Next-Gen Dual Reality System

You will either spend most of your time in the spiritual world or in the real-world. At times you can control her in both worlds and her actions can have an impact in the other, adding another element of interactivity to the puzzle solving. Harnessing the power of the Xbox Series X|S features, these two worlds will be rendered simultaneously in real-time for unparalleled immersion.

Legendary Composers Creating The Soundtrack

A good horror game will have you on the edge of your seat. Add some haunting music with a headset and it will take games to another level of thrilling. The soundtrack in The Medium is no different. The music is co-composed by Akira Yamaoka who composed the music of Silent Hill and Arkadiusz Keikowski who worked on the Blair Witch game and Observer. The renowned music composers and award-nominated duo will immerse you fully into the dark and disturbing world of The Medium.

A Familiar Voice

The game has everything to be a big hit with Xbox players. The Maw, the game’s antagonist, also has a familiar voice. He is voiced by the popular voiceover artist Troy Baker, best-known for his role as Joel in The Last of Us. He has also featured in some of the greatest games including Batman, Elder Scrolls, Mortal Kombat 11 and many more.

Designed for Xbox Series X

This is one of the first games exclusively released on Xbox Series X|S so we can expect next-gen enhancements. This is perfectly demonstrated in the dual reality system by rendering two worlds at the same time simultaneously. On the Xbox Series X, the game has 4K visuals and runs at 30fps.
