Well, we simply cannot contain our excitement after Nintendo announced a bounty of things coming our way in their Super Mario Bros. 35th Anniversary Direct. From games to merchandise to events, you can get a quick run down of the event right here!
Super Mario 3D World + Bowsers Fury- February 12, 2020
Get ready for multiplayer mayhem with Super Mario 3D World + Bowser’s Fury. The title may sound familiar, well that’s because Super Mario 3D World originally launched for the Wii U system in 2013 and has now been beautifully enhanced for the Nintendo Switch. Super Mario 3D World offers co-op gameplay both online and through local multiplayer. Along with an expanded story and brand-new Cat Mario and Cat Peach amiibo figures, Super Mario 3D World + Bowser’s Fury will be a fantastic Nintendo Switch adventure!
Super Mario 3D All- Stars- September 18, 2020
3 is a magic number! Nintendo also announced that there will be optimised versions of 3 iconic 3D Mario games coming to the Nintendo Switch. The games include Super Mario 64, Super Mario Sunshine and Super Mario Galaxy, and will all come as part of the same package! These games will have higher resolution than their original versions as well as being enhanced to run on the Nintendo Switch. Super Mario 3D All-Stars will be available on the Nintendo Switch on the 18th September, but will only be available until March 2021, so don’t miss out!
Mario Kart Live: Home Circuit- October 16th, 2020
Get ready to experience Mario Kart like never before on Nintendo Switch! Mario Kart Live: Home Circuit allows you to drive a kart in the real world using your kart’s on-board camera, displaying the visuals to your Nintendo Switch or TV. Watch your race come to life in Mario Kart Live: Home Circuit. You can grab Mario Kart Live: Home Circuit with either Mario or Luigi, which brother will you pick?
Super Mario All Stars
That’s right, Super Mario All Stars is joining the Nintendo Switch Online SNES library and guess what? It’s available right now! With enhanced 16-bit graphics and audio, this 4 in 1 collection is a great retro gaming adventure. Games included within Super Mario All Stars are upgraded versions of Super Mario Bros., Super Mario Bros: The Lost Levels, Super Mario Bros. 2 and Super Mario. 3!

Game & Watch: Super Mario Bros.- November 13th, 2020
The handheld gaming console that started it all is back! Originally created by Nintendo in 1980, the Game & Watch system returns to our hands as a special Super Mario Bro’s anniversary edition. This Game & Watch system includes the original Super Mario Bros. game, Ball (Mario version), Super Mario Bros: The Lost Levels and even includes a digital clock!

Super Mario Bros. 35- October 1st, 2020
Another exciting announcement is an exclusive offer for Nintendo Switch Online members in the form of Super Mario Bros. 35! Get ready to defeat enemies in other players’ courses and keep going until you’re the last Mario standing!

But that’s not the only way Nintendo are celebrating the 35th anniversary of gaming’s favourite plumber! There will also be a Super Mario themed Splatfest scheduled for Splatoon 2 in January 2021, as well as some Super Mario-themed Splatfest t-shirts! This Splatfest will introduce Team Super Mushroom and Team Super Star… who’s team will you be on?
Along with this splat-tastic Splatoon 2 event, there will also be some Super Mario-themed furniture added to Animal Crossing: New Horizons in March 2021!
