Lego® Super Mario™ - All Expansion Sets and Characters Available to Build

Mario is about to come to life, thanks to the new LEGO® Mario™ sets available. This new partnership between the two brands has created a unique experience allowing kids and gamers alike to build the ultimate crash course for Mario – but in real life!

Build the ultimate course for Mario. We’ve put together some information on the different sets available to buy, and how you can use multiple sets to create your own experience. Trust us you’ll want to start building a wish list….

LEGO® Super Mario™ Adventures with Mario Starter Course – 231 Piece Set

The LEGO® Super Mario™ starter pack includes everything you need to get started for your real-life adventures. The set has the interactive LEGO® Mario™ figure (2x AAA batteries required but not included), and he sure is expressive! Using the intuitive colour-recognition light at the bottom of the figurine he responds via the LCD screens and speaker in true Mario fashion.

Using Mario, you can earn virtual coins as you move him from the Start Pipe to the Goal Pipe. Whatever happens in the middle is up to you! Use the different coloured blocks, travel with the ? Blocks and cloud platforms and build super battles with Goomba and Bowser Jr. Build your own LEGO course and then use the Mario figurine to collect as many coins as you can!

Once you’ve completed one course, you can demolish and re-build a new challenge! There are also various expansion sets and Power-Up Packs available which you can add to the Starter Course. Mario will react in different ways to different blocks.

King Boo and the Haunted Yard Expansion Set – 431 Piece Set

We’re lucky to be one of few retailers to have the King Boo and the Haunted Yard Expansion Set. Mario must defeat the Goombas guarding the gate and make his way through the haunted yard while collecting coins. Topple King Boo who is guarding the Super Star which holds the power to defeat the King! This Expansion Set includes more blocks for Mario to interact with including collectible toy figurines with King Boo, 2 Goombas and 4 Swoop figures for action-packed gameplay.

Expansion Sets

Combining the expansion sets with the LEGO® Super Mario™ Adventures with Mario Starter Course will provide endless entertainment and building opportunities.

Guarded Fortress Expansion Set – 468 Piece Set

Add the Guarded Fortress to your LEGO® Super Mario™ Starter Course. This fun expansion includes Bomb-omb and a Koopa Troopa for Mario to defeat! Hop on to the catapults, leap over lava or face the water-route and defeat Piranha Plant. Choose from 3 challenging roads which all lead to the POW Block where there is a coin reward waiting.

Desert Pokey Expansion Set – 180 Piece Set

It’s heating up. This expansion set includes hammer-swinging battles a Pokey! This set includes a buildable desert scene, with a hammer turntable that LEGO® Mario™ can use to knock down the buildable Pokey. Complete all the sections and defeat a Monty Mole figure to earn even more rewards!

Whomp’s Lava Trouble Expansion Set – 133 Piece Set

Watch out for the lava! Avoid falling off the sliding platform, knock over the Whomp and try to win a shower of coins for running, jumping, and doing stunts with LEGO® Mario™! This is the only set to include the P Switch. Add more action into your levels and avoid the Lava Bubble.

Piranha Plant Power Slide Expansion Set – 217 Piece Set

This collectible set includes a platform on rails on a seesaw with a Piranha Plant at either end, so make sure Mario can balance! The expansion set also includes a Time Block to earn extra time, plus Goomba and Koopa Troopa figures to defeat.

Boomer Bill Barrage Expansion Set – 132 Piece Set

Ready for a spinning challenge? This LEGO® toyset includes a spinner with two flying Boomer Bill figures, a Shy Guy figure and a Super Mushroom which will give LEGO® Mario™ a boost!

Mario’s House & Yoshi Expansion Set – 205 Piece Set

Character Packs

The character pack includes one of 10 collectible figurines that can be used as part of your LEGO® Super Mario™ course! Want to know who you’ll receive in the mystery pack? Free LEGO Super Mario App

The free LEGO® Super Mario™ app enhances your courses by providing viewing tools to make building the levels easier. The app provides tips and recommendations for building different levels for Mario to overcome. It is also a place to share with others the course you have created and gain inspiration for new builds!
