Wolverine confirmed for Deadpool game

World famous superhero icon Wolverine will make an appearance in Activision's upcoming Deadpool game. In comics lore they both got their similar superpowers from the Weapon X programme, so it makes sense that these prickly comrades-in-arms would meet in the digital realm.

Deadpool, however, is not happy about it. "Who approved this?!," demanded the Merc with a Mouth in a press release that really was written by a fictional comic book character. "What is with everyone loving Wolverine when I am cooler in every possible way? Who has the cooler costume color [sic] palette? Deadpool. Who can fight in melee AND at range? Deadpool! Who forgets his past through repression, like a NORMAL PERSON, rather than dumb amnesia? DEADPOOL!"

You can expect more fourth-wall shattering shenanigans in the game, as Deadpool is well known as the Marvel character who knows he's in a comic and takes time out to address the reader directly.

The Deadpool game is being developed by High Moon Studios, best known for the excellent recent Transformers titles. Deadpool himself will be voiced by game actor extraordinaire Nolan North, who has played the character before in Spider-Man: Shattered Dimensions and Marvel vs Capcom 3, and in the animated movie, Hulk vs Wolverine.

Deadpool is out for Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 on June 28th.
