Codemasters details new DiRT 3 Gymkhana mode

Developer Codemasters has revealed details of the all-new Gymkhana mode which will feature in its new off-road racing game DiRT 3.

The new gameplay feature has been developed with the help of famed WRC driver Ken Block and allows players to show off their freestyle driving skills in compounds littered with jumps and props.

Players will be given the option to take part in career-based events, race against friends in online multiplayer and even record footage of their best performances, which they can then share via YouTube.

Block said: "I had a blast working with the guys on last year's Colin McRae: DiRT 2 and with the introduction of Gymkhana to DiRT 3, we're pushing both the series and racing games forward."

Gymkhana mode will complement the wide array of gameplay offerings available in DiRT 3, which will include more than 50 rally cars taken from five decades of racing.

Among them will be models such as the Mitsubishi Evo X, the Ford RS200 and Ken Block's own Ford Fiesta 2011.
