Gears of War fans are to be given a unique opportunity to decide the fate of one of the characters in Gears of War 3 as part of a special Xbox Live promotion.
Microsoft and developer Epic have revealed that the forthcoming Xbox 360 action epic is to introduce Clayton Carmine, brother of the ill-fated Anthony and Ben Carmine, both of whom met grisly ends in the first two Gears games.
This time around, the gamemakers are making two promotional Avatar t-shirts available on Xbox Live Marketplace with messages saying "Save Carmine" or "Carmine Must Die".
By downloading one of the two items, players can help to decide whether rookie Clayton meets the same fate as his siblings, with all the money raised via the promotion going to charity.
The unique promotion will help to ramp up anticipation further for Gears of War 3, which will provide an epic conclusion to Marcus Fenix's battles against the Locust Horde when it launches in 2011.
