The racing game for the Nintendo Wii has successfully held off the challenge of Wii Fit, which remains in second place, with data stating that both titles saw a 12 per cent boost in sales for the week.
Gamers are also keen to continue with Olympic fever as both Sega's Beijing 2008 and Nintendo's Mario & Sonic both clung on to their positions of third and fourth respectively and Eidos' Summer Athletics rose from 25th in the chart to 12th.
Wii Play remains in fifth, with Take Two's Carnival: Funfair Games seeing a rise in sales to lift it from 13th to sixth.
The remainder of the top ten is made up of Big Beach Sports, Dr Kawashima's Brain Training, Wall-E and Guitar Hero III: Legends of Rock.
Brain Training's climb from ninth to eighth in the chart has helped the title break a record for the highest number of weeks spent in the chart's top ten.
The title's 80 weeks has out-survived that of Tomb Raider which lasted 79 weeks.
