New Super Mario Bros Wii to feature help mode for rookies

Novice gamers keen to try out the forthcoming New Super Mario Bros Wii are to be given assistance in the form of an automatic helper mode.

Nintendo has revealed that the platform action game will include a brand new feature called Super Guide, which permits players to allow a computer controlled character to complete difficult levels for them.

The mode will only be unlocked if a player fails to clear a stage eight times in a row, allowing the player to watch Luigi tackle the level on his own without their input, reports Kotaku.

However, gamers can still resume control at any time, which means that players can use Super Guide to clear tricky sections before finishing the level themselves.

Nintendo assured veteran gamers that Super Guide will also benefit them, as the presence of the helper mode will give the game maker free reign to make the title's levels more challenging and complex.

The Wii sequel to the DS hit New Super Mario Bros is to launch in the UK this November.
