Mario Kart Wii and Wii Fit reach diamond status

Mario Kart Wii and Wii Fit are the latest titles to surpass the milestone of selling more than one million units in the UK.

According to ELSPA, the Nintendo Wii pair join a select band of games to have already achieved the figure including the likes of Dr Kawashima's Brain Training and Mario & Sonic.

Also, the achievement means that Nintendo has now published four Wii games to move past one million sales and three games on the Nintendo DS.

ELSPA figures show that only 11 titles have reached the diamond milestone in the UK.

Meanwhile, gamers still yet to get their hands on a copy of Wii Fit since it became available have been told to increase their search as further stock shortages are expected this Christmas.

Forbes stated recently that Nintendo of America president Reggie Fils-Aime said: "With Wii hardware, I think we've got a good shot at meeting demand during the holidays. With 'Wii Fit', I know we'll fall short."
