Fable 2 has defeated all the competition to top the latest US gaming chart.
Lionhead's epic role-playing game shifted more units than any other title during October by a considerable margin to top the chart.
Some 790,000 sales of the Xbox 360 exclusive were sold over the month, far more than the 487,000 copies of Wii Fit that were sold, leaving the Nintendo Wii exercise game to finish second in the chart.
Bethesda's Fallout 3 completed the top three, finishing almost 100,000 copies ahead of Mario Kart Wii which was fourth, selling 290,000 units.
Wii Play was marginally behind in fifth, with another small sales gap to Saint's Row 2 in sixth.
The remainder of the top ten consisted of SOCOM: Confrontation, Little Big Planet, NBA 2K9 and Dead Space.
Meanwhile, there was double the delight for the Xbox 360, as not only did Fable 2 top the gaming chart, but the console also sold 371,000 machines during October, almost twice that of the PlayStation 3.
