Grand Theft Auto V has next gen and PC release dates

GTA V on PS4, Xbox One and PC.

Rockstar's ambitious sandbox epic, Grand Theft Auto V, will be released on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One on 18 November, the company has revealed. This is a game that was already stunningly lifelike on the previous console generation, so the prospect of it running on more powerful hardware is mouth watering.

Obviously, there will be visual improvements with Rockstar promising "a range of major visual and technical upgrades to make Los Santos and Blaine County more immersive than ever" including "increased draw distances and higher resolution".

But they haven't stopped there. The enhanced version of the game will also feature major gameplay additions in the shape of new activities, weapons and vehicles. The game will also have extra wildlife, a denser traffic system, realistic trees and foliage and improved damage and weather effects.

There's an audio upgrade as well, as the soundtrack will swell by over 100 new songs. Many of the celebrity DJs from the game's 17 radio stations have also returned to record new dialogue and even provide new exclusive mixes.

If haven't visited Los Santos already, there's never been a better time. If you did play the original edition, it sounds like it will be worth coming back for more in an even more lifelike city. Grand Theft Auto V hits PlayStation 4 and Xbox One on 18 November. PC owners will need to wait a little longer – it reaches PC on 27 January.
