Arkham Knight, the final entry in developer Rocksteady's Batman trilogy, promises to be something pretty special. Not only does it feature an all-new villain, created specifically for the game, but it also introduces the Batmobile to the series as a playable mode of transport for the first time.
Those picking the game up on PlayStation 4 will get something else to be excited about: an exclusive mission based around an iconic enemy from 2009's Batman: Arkham Asylum.
"Gotham falls victim to Scarecrow's fear toxin, transforming the famous city into a twisted, hellish nightmare in the Batman: Arkham Knight Scarecrow Nightmare Pack," reads the description on the official PlayStation website. "Tear through the city in the all-new Batmobile and face off against a towering vision of Scarecrow and his undead army as they spread terror on the streets, available exclusively on Playstation 4."
Scarecrow is also a central figure in the main game storyline. The character didn't appear in Arkham City, though it was possible to find several Easter Egg clues suggesting his presence hidden around the map. In Arkham Knight, it's Scarecrow who unites villains such as Penguin and Two Face, just as the titular Arkham Knight appears on the scene, using all of Batman's skills and technology, but without the Dark Knight's moral code against killing.
Batman: Arkham Knight is out in 2015.
