IO Interactive planning all-new game franchise after Hitman Absolution

Denmark's IO Interactive, creator of Hitman, Kane & Lynch and Mini Ninjas, is planning to launch a new game series once work is completed on the upcoming Hitman Absolution, studio boss Niels Sorensen has told Gamasutra.

Once Absolution is finished, IO will split into two teams. One will work with the new Square Enix studio in Montreal on a Hitman game for next generation consoles, while the other will begin work on a mysterious new project.

hen people work on the same IP for some time, I believe that there a sort of creative drain,Sorensen told the website. hankfully we managed to make sure we keep focusing on different IPs and keeping people fresh. Wee built an incubation department whose focus is work on new IP and prototypes, and all sorts of things for existing and new IP, and that a really interesting sort of secret place where they cook up a lot of new things./p>

Hitman Absolution is scheduled for release next year, for PlayStation 3, Xbox 360 and PC.
