Watch Dogs coming to Wii U, Ubisoft confirms

Watch_Dogs, Ubisoft's hotly tipped cyberpunk hacking adventure, will be coming to Wii U as well as the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, PC and next generation consoles, the publisher has confirmed. The news follows Ubisoft's announcement that its Wii U exclusive, Rayman Legends, would be delayed until September and would launch on Xbox and PlayStation at the same time.

Ubisoft's Montreal studio was lavished with support after Watch_Dogs caught the industry imaginations during last year's E3. The French publisher had kept the game under wraps until its reveal during the company's press conference, and news of the stunning looking new title quickly spread.

"E3 was a great revelation for Watch_Dogs," Ubisoft boss Yves Guillemot has told trade magazine MCV. "It gave us a chance to increase the whole project, giving the studio the chance to have bigger teams to help them achieve this goal they have. You always have great ideas, but you need enough people to bring it to life. After E3, we really made sure they had all the teams they needed and all the capacity they wanted to fulfil their dream."

"There's good potential for success," he added, understating the situation quite magnificently.

Watch_Dogs is planned for release later this year.
