Red Orchestra 2 sales set new record for Tripwire Interactive

Tripwire Interactive has revealed that its new shooter Red Orchestra 2: Heroes of Stalingrad has proven to be its most successful ever.

Sales of the game, which was released on PC last month, were able to outpace those of the original Red Orchestra game within two days of launch, as well as outperforming the launch of Tripwire's Killing Floor by a threefold margin.

This comes in addition to the strong reviews attracted by the World War II combat game, with Tripwire currently working to make a number of updates to the game's online infrastructure to offer the best possible multiplayer experience.

Red Orchestra 2: Heroes of Stalingrad allows players to relive the infamous Battle of Stalingrad, with full single-player campaigns offered from both the German and Russian perspectives.

The game offers an authentic WWII experience, with true-to-life weapon physics and ballistics, as well as a first-person cover system that provides options for blind fire and suppression tactics.
