Garden Warfare, the third-person shooter spin-off from beloved casual game Plants vs Zombies, is due to arrive next February, publisher EA has confirmed.

The game once again details the ongoing war between the undead and various blooms and legumes, and despite the silly premise looks to be a really good shooter. It's been developed in Frostbite 3, the same game engine used for Battlefield 4, and comes with a host of cool modes and multiplayer features.

There are ten maps and three modes in the game, which will retail at a budget price. Team Vanquish is a team deathmatch affair, while Garden & Graveyards tasks the Plants with protecting their garden from the Zombie team. There's a four player co-op mode called Garden Ops too. As in the downloadable strategy game, you'll have different characters with different abilities, as well as an arsenal of themed weaponry.

The Xbox One edition of the game comes with a few extras as well. There's a local splitscreen co-op mode, and a Boss Mode in which another player can join in via Kinect or Smartglass, viewing the game from a top-down view and delivering air strikes and assistance to their team. It's Battlefield's Commander Mode, only with plants. And zombies.

Plants and Zombies: Garden Warfare is out on February 21st for Xbox 360 and Xbox One. A PC version has been confirmed, but not yet dated.
