    Owlboy Q'n'A

    Question
Why did development time for Owlboy last for around 10 years?
    Answer
The original Owlboy game was announced back in 2007. Owlboy’s creator Simon Anderson highlighted the importance of not cutting corners when it comes to the beauty of 2D art. As well as this, level designer Adrian Bauer stated that the independent development team, DPad studio, allowed time to properly develop the game via a custom XNA engine that was not fully optimised until 2012.

    Question
Are there any stand-out graphics in Owlboy?
    Answer
Yes. Owlboy is renowned for its beautiful pixel art graphics. The 2D artwork and gameplay may have taken years to complete, but it has been worth the wait according to gaming fanatics and those within the industry.

    Question
    What is ‘pixel art’?
    Answer
Pixel art is returning to our modern consoles due to both its beautiful and nostalgic elements. Pixel art is a form of digital art, where images are edited on the pixel level using limited graphics and computing resources. From the likes of Super Mario and Rogue Legacy, pixel art was used when the gaming industry was first established and is still used to this day in modern games.
