Join the young king Evan as he sets out on an epic quest to found a new kingdom and, with the help of some new friends, unite his world, saving its people from a terrible evil.

A sequel to 2013’s critically acclaimed Wrath of the White Witch, Ni No Kuni II: Revenant Kingdom is set hundreds of years after its predecessor and promises more of the unique gameplay that fans of the first game fell in love with in 2013.
In this edition, gamers take control of Evan Pettiwhisker Tildrum, a young King and member of the cat tribe who is removed from his position of power by the mouse tribe. The aim of the game is for Evan to try and reclaim his kingdom from those that have taken his castle from him. Players are aided by two trusty sidekicks, Roland and Tani.
Essentially a role-playing game played from a third-person perspective, Ni No Kuni II sees gamers complete a series of quests to progress through the unusual story. What’s more intriguing is the ability to free-roam, allowing players to traverse the vast open world where they can explore villages, towns, dungeons and other amazing environments.
When it comes to fighting enemies, players enter a uniquely styled battle system. Unlike many other titles, Ni No Kuni II battles take place on the open battlefield, allowing gamers to roam across the area freely and use a variety of melee and magical attacks to thwart the ensuing threats. New to this second instalment are elemental creatures known as ‘Higgledies’ that can be used to reach far away places as well as being used to explore dungeons and cast a range of spells.
Graphically, Revenant Kingdom treads a similar path to its predecessor, but with a couple of coats of paint. While the first game was developed in partnership with Studio Ghibli, this new game departs from their joint venture with only Joe Hisaishi and Yoshiyuki Momose reprising their roles of music composer and character designer respectively. Naturally, this means a charmingly designed and beautifully crafted world brimming with detail.
Elsewhere, the new Kingdom Battle mode is a detailed real-time strategy addition to the Ni No Kuni series and sees players control a miniature version of King Evan. He has the ability to command different types of troops who become useful in different ways. The aim of Kingdom Battle is to show how Evan is slowly regaining his power and it promises to be an exciting inclusion in the new game.
Ni No Kuni II: Revenant Kingdom is sure to be yet another stylistically stunning and engrossing adventure that, coupled with a powerful home PC set-up will no doubt be entertaining gamers for many hours.
