As the launch of Ultra Street Fighter IV approaches, speculation is heating up as to who the fifth and final new character added to the roster will be.

Capcom has already confirmed that the character is female. The publisher has also said that the character is from the existing Street Fighter character canon, but has never been playable before. She's been described as a "perfect fit" for the game, but Capcom insists that whoever she is, she's "not on anyone's radar".

Mysterious, no? Now Japanese gaming site Siliconera says that the new character is from the official Street Fighter comic books, published by manga studio UDON. Street Fighter fan site Shoryuken reckons that clue points to Sarai Kurosawa, a character from the comics who has appeared in cutscenes in both Street Fighter III: 3rd Strike and Street Fighter x Tekken.

Whoever the mystery fighter turns out to be, they'll be joining fellow newcomers Elena, Hugo, Poison and Rolento in Ultra Street Fighter IV. The game will be available as a standalone title, but also as a budget-priced DLC update for those who already own Super Street Fighter IV. As well as new characters, it will include six new stages, balancing updates and new fighting mechanics, moves and modes.

Ultra Street Fighter IV is due in June for PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360, and in August for PC.
