Murdered: Soul Suspect, the spooky detective thriller from Square Enix, has summoned a release date through the ectoplasmic mists of the afterlife (or "the internet" as it's known). The game will launch in the UK on June 6th.

The game casts you as Ronan O'Connor, a detective murdered in the line of duty by a brutal and mysterious killer. Being a plucky sort, Ronan continues his investigation as a ghost, passing through walls to eavesdrop on conversations, exploring crime scenes in his invisible spirit form and even reaching into the minds of other characters to implant suggestions that might shake loose another clue. All the while, you'll have to defend yourself from demonic entities that are intent on dragging your soul into the afterlife.

It's certainly an unusual take on the action adventure genre, but that's probably to be expected since it comes from eclectic studio Airtight, previously responsible for the topsy-turvy jetpack assisted cover shooter Dark Void, and the quirky first-person puzzle Quantum Conundrum, designed by Portal creator Kim Swift.

Murdered: Soul Suspect will be released simultaneously for PC, PS3, PS4, Xbox 360 and Xbox One. Keep your eyes peeled for pre-order bonuses coming soon.
