Street Fighter X Tekken coming in March 2012

Capcom has announced that its eagerly awaited crossover fighting game Street Fighter X Tekken will be hitting stores in March 2012.

Producer Yoshinori Ono confirmed the news at New York Comic Con alongside a host of new gameplay details for the game, which brings together the stars of the Street Fighter and Tekken franchises for a battle royale.

In addition to the already-confirmed Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and PlayStation Vita versions, Mr Ono revealed that a PC conversion is also in the works, with more details to be revealed soon.

The game will introduce a new gameplay feature called Gems, collectable upgrades that can be gathered during play for use in customising character abilities and statistics.

Capcom also confirmed that burly Street Fighter IV combatant Rufus will be joining the all-star character roster, which already includes the likes of Ryu, Ken, Chun-Li and Guile from Street Fighter, as well as Tekken's Kazuya, Nina, Kuma and Yoshimitsu.
