Attack, then rest!

Some of the Pokémon in this deck can do incredible amounts of damage… so long as they don’t attack on the next turn. This includes your star, Lycanroc V1 It can only use it’s 200-damage Crashing Fangs attack every other turn, so you’ll want to get it into play and powered up as quickly as possible.

  • Heavy Hitters: There are quite a few Pokémon in this deck that can do 180 or more damage. This should be enough to knock out almost any Pokémon your opponent has, other than their star Pokémon V. But these attacks also require a lot of Energy, so try to keep that Energy flowing with card draw.
  • A Swift Escape: Sometimes you will want to retreat your Active Pokémon to prevent it from getting knocked out. Other times you will want to switch your oppenent’s Active Pokémon out to the their bench – especially if it’s posing a serious threat. Escape Rope does both but it can be tricky to use properly. Make sure the Pokémon you switch into your Active Spot is ready to attack.
  • Evolve: Most of your powerful Pokémon are at least Stage 1, so you want to make sure you always have matching Basic and Stage 1 Pokémon. Evolution Incense can help you get the Stage 1 Pokémon you need, while Great Balls can help you find either part of the combination.

    There are also plenty of Trainer cards in this deck to help you draw more cards. Every card you draw is an opportunity to have exactly the card you need in your hand at exactly the time you need it – and to have the right amount of Energy to use your Pokémon’s big attacks!
