Killer is Dead, the latest game from gonzo game designer Suda 51, is coming to Europe on August 30th, it has been confirmed.
Killer is Dead is a pulpy action game, set in the near future, and starring Mondo Zappa, a freelance assassin with a cybernetic arm. You'll travel the world and even visit the Moon as you undertake contracts for your employer, Bryan Execution Firm. Zappa is armed with a sword, and his bionic arm transforms into a variety of weapons, ranging from a gun to a drill. He also has a touch of 007 about him: you'll be able to suave it up and seduce the ladies.
If that all sounds a bit bonkers, remember that Suda 51 is the man behind such insane grindhouse gaming cult hits as Lollipop Chainsaw and Shadows of the Damned.
Publisher Deep Silver has also announced a Fan Edition which comes in exclusive packaging and contains Akira Yamaoka's soundtrack, an art book, poster, and the Smooth Operator Pack. This DLC includes a bonus mission called The Man Who Stole Blood, X-Ray glasses for use in Gigolo Mode, a new character named Betty that you can seduce, and a secret unannounced item. There will also be a slightly cheaper Limited Edition, which comes with the Smooth Operator Pack, but none of the bonus physical gifts.
Killer is Dead is out on August 30th for Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3.
