Square Enix and Avalanche Studios have confirmed that the long-rumoured Just Cause 3 is in development, and will launch in 2015. It's been a long time coming, as Just Cause 2 came out in 2010, with the first game in the series releasing in 2006.
Once again, players will step into the leather trousers of dashing freedom fighter Rico Rodriguez as he battles another odious dictator. This time the setting is a Mediterranean archipelago, but you'll still be using Rico's iconic grapple gun to get around. New to your bag of tricks will be a wingsuit, allowing you to glide and freefall much faster than your parachute.
It also sounds as if the key gameplay mechanic causing Chaos by destroying enemy property will return, and will be beefed up to even more explosive levels on the new consoles.
Weve been waiting for this moment ever since Just Cause 2 was released, said Christofer Sundberg, founder of Avalanche Studios. This is the culmination of a decades worth of open-world evolution and innovation...Just Cause 3 truly represents the next generation of chaotic sandbox fun, and we cant wait to show you more next year.
Just Cause 3 will be out for PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC in 2015.
