Grand Slam Tennis 2 has been launched for the Xbox 360 and the PlayStation 3, bringing the sporting franchise into high-definition for the first time, developer EA Sports has revealed.
Gamers playing the latest instalment in the EA Sports Grand Slam Tennis lines of games will be able to choose from as an impressive pantheon of tennis greats, including past stars such as John McEnroe.
Current athletes such as recent Australian Open winner Novak Djokovic, Rafael Nadal and Serena Williams are also available.
"We're excited to bring the EA Sports Grand Slam Tennis franchise to the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 platforms," said Dean Richards, general manager of team & action sports at EA Sports.
He added that the new control system could be the "first real innovation" in tennis gaming for some time.
The global edition of the game will feature Djokovic and McEnroe on the cover as well as beaten Australian Open finalist Maria Sharapova.
