Epic Games and record label Sumthing Else Music Works have revealed plans to launch a soundtrack album for the forthcoming blockbuster Gears of War 3.
To be released via retail stores and digital music services, Gears of War 3: The Soundtrack features nearly 80 minutes of music from Hollywood composer Steve Jablonsky, whose work includes movies such as the Transformers trilogy.
The musician, who also supplied the score to Gears of War 2, has melded traditional orchestral sounds with electronic ambience to create an epic soundtrack that evokes the game's action-packed but emotional story.
Jablonksy said: "Gears of War 3 is huge. It was like scoring a summer blockbuster. I love the guys at Epic because to them, the characters and the story are just as important as the gameplay."
Gears of War 3 is coming to Xbox 360 this month and is the final chapter in the hugely successful sci-fi trilogy.
The 3D-enabled title will be released in three different versions and has already broken pre-order sales records.
