Darksiders and Red Faction compilations coming in March

Nordic Games, the company which picked up both the Darksiders and Red Faction franchises after original publisher THQ went bust, is dusting off the games and re-releasing them in tempting compilation bundles.

The Darksiders Collection collects both the original game and its 2012 sequel. The games follow the Horsemen of the Apocalypse in epic action adventures, where the more abilities and items you gain, the more of the Metroid-style world you can access and explore. Combat is beefy and bloody, and there's a solid role-playing levelling system as well. Also included in the compilation are the Abyssal Forge and Belial’s Pass DLC expansions.

Red Faction comes from Saints Row studio Volition, and casts players as a freedom fighter battling corruption and alien threats on the surface of a colonised Mars. The compilation contains Red Faction: Guerilla and Red Faction: Apocalypse, both of which use Volition's GeoMod physics engine to create a world where everything can be torn down and blown up. Also included is the Path of War DLC for Apocalypse, while PC players get the 2002 first-person shooter Red Faction 2 as a bonus. Jason Statham does one of the voices for that, you'll be excited to learn.

Both compilations are due in March. Hopefully it's a sign that we'll be seeing new entries in these excellent series before too long.
