Batman: Arkham City tops UK charts

Batman: Arkham City has claimed the top spot in the UK's gaming charts, pushing last week's number one FIFA 12 into second place.

Developed by Rocksteady, Batman: Arkham City allows players to enter the open-plan world of Arkham and wreak havoc on unsuspecting members of the game's shady underworld.

Its launch this week has catapulted it to the zenith of the UK gaming world, doubling the figures seen for the release of its predecessor Arkham Asylum back in 2009.

Other games that make up this week's top ten include the aforementioned FIFA 12, Sega's Football Manager 2012, Forza Motorsport 4, Just Dance 3, The Sims 3: Pets, Pro Evolution Soccer 2012, Rage, Zumba Fitness and Gears of War 3.

Meanwhile, XBox 360 owners are set to benefit from a new DLC pack for Gears of War 3 - RAAM's Shadow - which is set to be released in December and will focus on the exploits of characters from the original title.
