Uncharted 4's directors have responded to rumours that Naughty Dog has already begun work on a follow-up to 2013's critical and commercial smash The Last of Us.

When asked by Game Informer magazine if a Last of Us sequel would happen, Bruce Straley replied: “That’s all a big if. We’re 110 percent in Uncharted 4 territory now. Blinders on, make this awesome.”

Writer and co-director Neil Druckmann also weighed in on the subject. “We have brainstormed sequel ideas for The Last of Us, and we’ve brainstormed ideas for new games, but all of that is put on ice right now while we work on Uncharted 4

Druckmann also acknowledged that some fans were unsure whether they wanted a sequel to The Last of Us, for fear of undermining its powerful ending. “We totally get it,” he said, “because we have those same feelings as well.”

PS4 exclusive Uncharted 4 is due later in 2015. PS4 owners can also pick up The Last of Us: Remastered Edition which contains the award-winning game and all of its downloadable content in one bumper package.
