Best 2 Player Games To Play On PS4

Adding a player 2 to your gaming can add an extra element fun. Not only can they help you through certain levels, but you can compete against each other without the need to go online. We’ve hand selected some of the best couch co-op games available on PlayStation 4 that you can play with your kids, your partner and even the dog (we can’t promise he’ll be very good).
Rocket League
Rocket League is a superb game for split screen co-op gaming. If you’re familiar with the game, it’s essentially playing football with vehicles. It can cause mayhem but it’s also great fun. The aim is to score as many goals in the opposing football net to win within a time limit. You can compete against each other, or team up and take your skills to online multiplayer. Take control of your own rocket powered Battle-Car and get ready to score some goals in this futuristic high action PS4 game.

Team Sonic Racing
What’s blue and runs super-fast? It’s our favourite hedgehog of course, Sonic! Another fun racing game is Team Sonic Racing and the whole family can get involved. There is a 4-person split screen mode so the family can grab a controller and go head-to-head in a high-speed race to cross the finish line first!
With 15 playable characters, you can pick your character, customize their look and vehicle to play to your advantages. It’s a great game for beginners and those familiar with racing games. Prepare go full throttle into the Sonic universe!
Gran Turismo Sport
Another PlayStation 4 game for racing or car fans is Gran Turismo Sport. It’s been called one of the best split screen racing games for 2 players because it’s so seamless and easy. You can easily drive side by side without being distracted by the other car. Select your track, pick your car and set all your driving options with ease.
On a separate note, it’s also compatible with PlayStation VR so if you want to go back to single player mode, you can discover a new realistic experience in this racing game.
Well, All The LEGO Games
LEGO are renowned for their fantastic 2 player game modes – all you need is another player and a second controller! Every LEGO game has the same premise for co-op mode. Two players can play together throughout levels, one can drop out at any time and you can easily switch characters. In LEGO Star Wars: The Complete Saga, there’s also a Multiplayer Battle Arena where you’d knock each other out for points.

Knack 2
Knack 2 is a game that gets even better when you have 2 players. This game puts you in the shoes of a size-shifting character and with one tap can grow to super large to just two feet tall! Along the way you can collect items which will only make him bigger, requiring you to tap R1 so he can shift through small gaps. This game was initially a launch game for the PS4 but is seriously good fun for families looking for a co-op game.
It’s easy to add another player. Simply pick up another DualShock 4 controller and jump straight into the action, you can even use special co-op combat moves!
Overcooked 2
Overcooked 2 is a fantastically enraging and fun game. It is a cooking simulation game where you must complete levels within a certain amount of time by working together to create and serve dishes. Working together is the key phrase here. The levels range in difficulty, and as you go on it can incredibly chaotic. You can play with up to 4 players to create sushi, pasta, burgers and more! Just make sure it’s not Overcooked – see what we did there?
Everything about this game is fun, from the artistic touches to the art style and variety of levels. Whilst it can be incredibly frustrating if someone isn’t cutting up the carrots and is instead washing plates… it’s seriously good fun and once you start playing you won’t be able to stop!
Rayman Legends
If you’re into platform games, Rayman Legends is fantastic. It supports up to four players locally and each player can pick which Rayman character they wish to be. All players can be on the screen at once, however, if you lag behind the screen will cut you off and you will die – although other players can simply pop your balloon to bring you back to life!
If you’re not familiar with the game, you must make your way through levels avoiding enemies and making your way to the end. There are also some incredible music levels where the environment and actions you take are perfectly timed with the music.
FIFA 20
FIFA 20 has a Co-Op Seasons game mode, designed for 2 players to put their boots on and head-to-head against two other friends anywhere in the world. That means you go play games co-op against other co-op players with online play. It’ll be sure to bring out your competitive side, but you can easily discuss tactics and play to each other strength to win your way to the top of the league.
