Picking up from the events of Metal Gear Solid V: Ground Zeroes, expanding the open world even wider for the biggest Metal Gear game to date. Set nine years after the events of Ground Zeroes, Snake is hurled headlong in the Soviet-Afghanistan conflict and encounters warriors robbed of their past, present and future, unearthing a deadly scheme by the Cipher corporation and vowing to end their deadly threat once and for all.
Metal Gear Solid: The Phantom Pain introduces a number of new features into the series for the first time, including a new day and night cycle that runs in real time and will impact what time of day it is when you reach locations throughout the game. A wider world needs new methods of transport, with planes, helicopters and motorbikes aiding your travelling and sneaking methods. And 24 star Kiefer Sutherland steps into the voice and motion-capture role as Snake, bringing a new level of performance to one of gaming's biggest icons.
