Quick update, I have been playing NSMB2 for the past day and I have to say what I have played is great fun. I don't think I will have my review up today, as I want to try and complete it as much as possible. However, I expect that I will have it written by monday night.
New Super Mario Bros 2 is days away from release and I for one cannot wait. I haven't been this excited for a mario release since Super Mario Galaxy 2, although 3D Land was fantastic fun I was sceptical before it's release because I hadn't seen a game like it for a handheld. If there is one thing that Nintendo can do, and do well, it's a mario platformer. Everytime a new one is released or announced it brings back memories from my childhood, spending hours playing Super Mario World trying to find all it's secrets. The fundamental idea at the heart of this game is a concept which has been there from the start - collecting coins. Only this time it's on such a massive scale. It seems like such a brilliant idea, and a new refreshing take on the franchise, despite the fact it's a series staple. I can't wait to dive right into this title, expect my review soon.
they should make mario on xboxOk, so i purchased L.A Noire the other day and it still hasnt arrived yet. I normally don't have trouble with buying games online, they are usually delivered 2 days after it says the order has been shipped but we are on the 4th day now and I was just wondering if this was normal? As ive said, I myself have not had any problems in the past but this delay has me thinking that something has gone wrong somewhere down the line.
To be honest, in the lead up to it's release, I wasn't looking forward to Star Fox 64 3D. In my mind it was just another remake for the 3DS, a remake that had no where near the same impact as ocarina of time 3D. However, after having played it I can say that my inital thought was completely wrong. Star Fox 64 3D is in my opinion the best game currently availible for 3DS and is a must buy if you own the system.
You play as Fox McCloud, head of the Star Fox Team and along with your partners Slippy, Peppy and Falco you are roped into saving the Lylat System from the evil scientist Andross. Starting from the planet Corneria, the story will lead you from mission to mission as you progress towards Andross' lair on the plant Venom. Each stage has a boss character you must defeat in order to progress to the next level. Depending on the actions you perform during each stage, your path to Venom may change which affects the way the story unfolds. The games difficulty will also change depending on the path you take. For example, from Corneria you can either progress to Meteos or Sector Y, with Sector Y being the more challenging level. Each campain lasts for 7 stages, but you will want to replay the campain multiple times in order to play every stage.
The game looks fantastic, the textures and been udpated for the 3DS and are a great example of what the 3DS is capable of. The colours are strong and give each stage it's own distinct feel. The 3D effect is also amazing, asteriods and enemy ships pop out at you. It has to be the best 3D on the system yet. The game also plays well, controlling with the circle pad is responsive and overall its a great game to just pick up and play. This was my first star fox game and I was able to just start playing straight away. And once you pick it up, it's extremely hard to stop.
Also included are a score attack mode (that is a true test of your flying skills) and a versus mode where you can battle computer players or your best friend via download play. Unfortunately there is no online versus mode, which is a slight let down but not a massive one. There is plenty in this game to keep you occupied.
It might be a remake, but it's the game the 3DS needed at launch. It's the best game to show what the 3DS can do, while also being addictive and replayable. If you own a 3DS, you need this game. With fast paced and addictive gameplay and some outstanding visuals you will fall in love with this game from the moment you start playing. By the end of it, you will want to start all over again and Peppy, Falco and Slippy will become your best friends. A definate must buy.
I agree that the launch was terrible which has affected the systems success, there was no game availible at launch that made you think 'I need that system'. But Nintendo have some big games coming out within the next year and the recent price drop should improve sales greatly. I don't think vita will do that much better, for starters its quite expensive. The 3DS was expensive and that was one of the factors which caused it to sell so poorly, so i dont see how Vita will fair much better. It may be a good game but the 3DS is turning into a failure. All of the top games are remakes and there bringing out that ridiculours add on for it. Vita is gonna stomp all over it.
