Wii owners are to be encouraged to express their artistic sides with the launch of a new drawing tablet accessory for the console.
Publisher THQ has unveiled its new uDraw GameTablet at the Gamescom industry event in Cologne, with the device set to hit UK and European stores early next year.
The tablet provides a pressure sensitive drawing space of four by six inches which users can write upon using a stylus, with the device plugging into the Wii Remote in order to draw power.
It will be bundled with an art-based game called uDraw Studio, while titles such as Pictionary and Dood's Big Adventure will also be released to take advantage of its capabilities.
THQ's Martin Good said: "Kids can doodle ... students can improve their skills through in-game tutorial lessons and the whole family can sit down together for family game time with products like Pictionary."
Gamers have already proven their appetite for gameplay-enhancing peripherals on Wii such as the Balance Board, which debuted with the blockbuster Wii Fit, as well as the Wii MotionPlus, star of last year's summer smash Wii Sport Resort.
