Grand Theft Auto IV: Complete Edition launches

One of the biggest gaming hits of recent years is receiving a definitive re-release with the launch of Grand Theft Auto IV: Complete Edition.

The new version of the critically-acclaimed crime epic is launching this week on Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and PC and includes the original game alongside its subsequent add-on episodes.

Grand Theft Auto IV originally hit stores in 2008 and recorded the biggest UK retail launch ever at the time.

It puts players in the role of Niko Bellic, an Eastern European immigrant trying to make his way in a bustling, violent metropolis, allowing players to roam freely and do as they please as they live the life of a small-time criminal in Liberty City.

The game was followed up with the episodic release of biker tale The Lost and the Damned and the high-rolling The Ballad of Gay Tony, both of which are included in the Complete Edition.

Sam Houser, founder of Rockstar Games, said: "We're happy to bring these three experiences together for the first time in one complete package."
