Red Dead Redemption: Undead Nightmare to get standalone release

Rockstar has revealed that some of the most popular downloadable content for its hit Western epic Red Dead Redemption is to get a standalone release.

Red Dead Redemption: Undead Nightmare is coming to stores next month for Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 and allows players to enjoy the DLC without needing to purchase the original game.

The disc will include the acclaimed Undead Nightmare pack, which introduces zombie battles into the mix with a chilling new story, various missions, new items and additional zombie-themed multiplayer modes.

Sam Houser, founder of Rockstar Games, said: "With Undead Nightmare, Red Dead Redemption is completely transformed into an open-world zombie-horror experience."

The disc will also include all the rest of the DLC released for the game thus far, including Legends and Killers, Outlaws to the End and Liars and Cheats.

Red Dead Redemption was launched in May 2010 to a warm critical reception and recorded one of the biggest UK retail debuts ever, with the game now ranking as one of the year's top sellers.
