Developer Treyarch has revealed that its forthcoming gaming blockbuster Call of Duty: Black Ops
is to feature the talent of some of Hollywood's most esteemed names.
The gamemaker has recruited the talents of acclaimed actors Gary Oldman and Ed Harris to play two key characters in the upcoming Xbox 360
, PlayStation 3
Oldman, known for his work in the Harry Potter and Batman franchises and a Call of Duty veteran, will return in the role of Viktor Reznov, while Apollo 13 star Harris will play one of the game's main characters.
In addition, the developer also confirmed that screenwriter David S Goyer, who worked on the Blade movies and the Oscar-winning The Dark Knight, has also been signed up for script consultation and story development support.
Mark Lamia, studio head of Treyarch, said: "Their contributions have helped us to push the boundaries of our story telling and character development far beyond anything we have ever attempted before in the franchise."
The game is coming out in November 2010 and will be released in a number of editions, including a lavish Prestige Edition that comes bundled with a functioning remote-controlled surveillance vehicle.
