Developer Codemasters has teased racing fans with the first official details of the sequel to last year's off-road hit Colin McRae DiRT 2.
DiRT 3 is currently in development for Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and PC and is set to be the most feature-packed entry in the series so far, boasting more vehicles, locations and events than ever.
Players will be able to experience life as a top-ranking professional off-road driver, taking part in races in regions such as Europe, Africa and the US and showing off in Gymkhana-style showpiece driving events.
More than 50 different rally cars will be recreated, sourced from more than five decades' worth of top vehicles, while the title will also feature double the number of tracks seen in its predecessor.
DiRT 3 will have to pull out all the stops in order to surpass the experience provided by last year's acclaimed entry, which featured realistic visuals based on EGO Engine technology and races in locales such as Malaysia and Croatia.
