Call of Duty: Black Ops DS details emerge

DS owners have been provided with the first details of the handheld version of what promises to be one of this year's biggest blockbuster games.

Activision is to release the DS edition of Call of Duty: Black Ops at the end of this year alongside its home console brethren, with the pocket-sized version to be developed by n-Space.

The DS title will allow gamers to enter the shady world of CIA-backed deniable operations and utilise a wide variety of high-tech gadgets and equipment, including attack choppers and prototype stealth fighter jets.

It will also feature some of the same multiplayer action that the Call of Duty series is famous for, including two-player cooperative gameplay and six-player competitive firefights.

Dan O'Leary, head of n-Space, said: "Call of Duty: Black Ops for the Nintendo DS is going to take the handheld Call of Duty experience to a new level."

The latest in the smash-hit Call of Duty series will launch in November 2010 and will also be available on Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, PC and Wii.
