A new wave of downloadable content will be available on April 15th, introducing three new maps - Ghost Town, Avalanche and one other that has not been named.
Ghost Town is "a battle-scarred maze of narrow passages and dangerous ruins outside the once-prosperous city of Voi". It features collapsed ceilings, catwalks and stairways.
Avalanche is a tribute to the Sidewinder map from the original Halo - a "massive, vehicle-oriented objective map".
Halo 3 racked up £17 million worth of sales in the UK in its first week.
"Halo 3 has become a pop culture phenomenon," said Microsoft's Shane Kim.
