Tecmo Koei promises Dead or Alive and more for 3DS

Developer Tecmo Koei has become the latest gamemaker to promise new instalments of some of its biggest franchises on Nintendo's new 3DS handheld.

The company has revealed that it is working on four titles for the much-anticipated 3D-enabled handheld, including new versions of its flagship Dead of Alive and Ninja Gaiden franchises.

Ninja Gaiden received an outing on the original DS with Ninja Gaiden: Dragon Sword in 2008, while the new Dead or Alive game will represent the first time the fighting franchise has ever featured on a Nintendo platform.

In addition, the gamemaker will be bringing a new entry in its Dynasty Warriors hack-and-slash series to 3DS, as well as a handheld edition of Samurai Warriors.

The news will serve to increase excitement over Nintendo's cutting-edge device, which was unveiled at the E3 trade show last week.

It features 3D graphics which can be viewed without the need for special glasses, as well as new motion and analogue control options.
