Mass Effect 2 wins mass affection from critics

Mass Effect 2 is blasting into gaming stores this week on the back of some of the most positive reviews for any game in recent memory.

Developer BioWare has hailed the critical reception for its new Xbox 360 and PC sci-fi title, which has earned perfect scores from respected games publications such as Eurogamer, GamesRadar, Official Xbox Magazine UK and GameDaily.

Meanwhile, mainstream publications such as Time Magazine have also praised the epic game, with USAToday.com saying it "sets the bar high for 2010".

The game picks up the story where the first Mass Effect left off and sees the heroic Commander Shepard embark on a challenging, emotional and surprising new mission into the most dangerous parts of the Milky Way galaxy.

It also features a vocal cast including big-name Hollywood talent such as Martin Sheen and Carrie-Anne Moss.

Dr Ray Muzyka, co-founder of BioWare, said: "This epic sequel in the stunning Mass Effect universe is an extraordinary accomplishment, one which we can't wait to get into the hands of a world-wide audience."
