Developer Bungie has revealed that a new downloadable content package is on the way for its perennially popular sci-fi shooter Halo 3.
As of the beginning of next month, Xbox 360 gamers will be able to download the Mythic 2 Map Pack, which will give players access to a number of multiplayer maps introduced in Halo 3: ODST.
These include Longshore, which sees players fight it out in long-range battles in an abandoned industrial port, as well as Citadel, a confined Forerunner base designed for squad-based tactics.
The DLC pack will also reacquaint Halo 3 players with Heretic, a map set on a Covenant ship which originally appeared in the Xbox's Halo 2 under the name Midship.
Despite having been released in 2007, Halo 3 remains one of Xbox 360's most popular and acclaimed games.
Earlier this month, Xbox Live director of programming Larry Hyrb revealed via his blog that it was the most-played online title of last year.
