Mass Effect 2 'will be great for veterans and new players'

BioWare has promised that its forthcoming sci-fi adventure Mass Effect 2 will offer an emotional and exciting experience, whether gamers have played the first game or not.

The forthcoming Xbox 360 and PC game is set to be able to interact with saved game files from Mass Effect, meaning that character and story choices made by the player in the first game will affect the plot of the second.

However, BioWare co-founder Dr Ray Muzyka told G4TV that the game will also cater to new players by posing questions which will help to determine which choices they would have made had they played the first title.

Dr Muzyka said this allows Mass Effect 2's story to be shaped by the player's own morality even if they are new to the series.

He said: "Either way, it's a great experience."

The game is set to launch next month and will feature an all-star voice cast including Martin Sheen, Carrie-Ann Moss and Seth Green.
