Uncharted 2 wins Spike VGA game of the year award

Naughty Dog's PlayStation 3 title Uncharted 2: Among Thieves has been awarded the title of Game of the Year at the Spike Video Game Awards (VGAs).

The globetrotting adventure game won the top prize at the ceremony, as well as collecting gongs for best graphics and best PlayStation 3 game.

Other multiple award winners included BioWare's epic fantasy role-playing title Dragon Age: Origins, which was named as best PC game as well as best RPG.

Infinity Ward's blockbuster Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 also walked away with two prizes after being named the year's best shooter and best multiplayer game.

Neither Infinity Ward nor Naughty Dog was able to claim studio of the year, however, as that prize went to Rocksteady Studios, creator of Batman: Arkham Asylum.

This comes after Uncharted 2: Among Thieves was last week ranked as the best-received game of 2009 in a list compiled by review score aggregator Metacritic.
